UNDER TWO WEEKS LEFT TO NOMINATE. Have you nominated yet? This is an excellent opportunity for clubs, organisations and individuals to nominate members as a recognition for the hours, days and weeks they dedicate to our sport. ASA Eastern Region want to hear about those that go above and beyond to help develop the sport within our region. Without these magnificent people, aquatics would not be where it is today and we want to recognise this by celebrating their commitment and achievements.

Following a single complaint through the ICO regarding the publication of dates of births within the ranking system they have recommended that we adopt a process to restrict access. In discussions with them it has been agreed to publish year of birth only.


The Plaistow & Higgs Trophies, and the Essex Award

The Plaistow & Higgs Trophies were donated by Plaistow Swimming Club, when the club dissolved in mid 1990’s and by Mike Higgs, Borough of Southend Swimming Club coach for many years, on his retirement in 2005, respectively. The Plaistow Trophy is awarded for Outstanding Performances in any one year and has often been for individuals being selected for National Honours in Speed Swimming, Disability Swimming or Masters Swimming. The Higgs Trophy is awarded for the best Swimming performance at the Annual National Swimming Championships. Nominations for the award are made by the respective discipline Managers, (Swimming, Masters, Diving, Disability, Synchro Water Polo etc.)

Development Coach - Halstead Swimming Club

Halstead Swimming club are looking for a highly motivated and committed individual to join our coaching team. The successful applicant will work alongside the Head Coach/Team to help build on the club’s success. HSC is a family friendly club with approximately 135 members. Typically 7 hours per week including competition cover.


Essex Masters Championships

The Essex Masters Championships will be held on Saturday 3rd September at the Basildon Sporting Village with warm-ups starting at 1pm. Schedule of events & entry forms are now available.
