Open to all CAT2 club swimmers (incl. from other Counties) aged 12+ on 31st Dec. 2026

Essex Winter Championships – Update to Meet Conditions

Following a review of the 2025 Essex Winter Championships, which unfortunately operated at a financial loss, the County has made the decision to open the 2026 Championships to swimmers from all Swim England affiliated clubs. The Essex Winter Championships are not a protected County Championship, which provides greater flexibility in how the event is delivered. Opening the meet to a wider audience will help improve the event’s financial sustainability and support its long-term future.

Essex swimmers remain our priority. Entries from Essex-affiliated clubs will be accepted first, with any remaining spaces offered to swimmers from outside the County only where capacity allows. This change is intended to strengthen the Championships, ensuring we can continue to provide a high-quality competition for Essex swimmers while maintaining the financial viability of the event.
