It is with great sadness that the County reports the death of its current President, Mike Callcut.
Mike started his involvement in swimming at Borough of Waltham Forest where he became an official in the 1980’s. He qualified as a starter after which he made numerous appearances at the Essex Championships. Mike moved onto being an assessor of officials and was well regarded as a mentor, always giving helpful advice. He was dedicated to swimming and took every opportunity to pass on his experience and advice. In later years, he moved to Thurrock Swimming Club with his partner, Carol.
