Clacton Swimming Club (1931) Round The Pier Swim – SUNDAY 28th JULY 2013

A Charity Swim supporting the RNLI – Anglefield Breakwater to West Greensward

Approximately 1200m Open Water Swim

Registration & Briefing – 1.00pm Start – 1.30pm

Junior Race – 14 to 16 Year Olds (Age as at 31st December 2013)
Senior Race – 17 Years and Over (Age as at 31st December 2013)

Individual Entry Fee - £ 8.00

All entrants must be ASA Category 2 Registered Competitors to satisfy ASA Insurance conditions giving Civil Liability & Personal Accident insurance cover whilst participating in the event.

The following statement has been issued by the ASA and British Swimming following the banning of certain swimsuits by FINA:

British Swimming and the ASA advise officials FINA bylaw BL 8.1 only applies to Olympic Games and FINA events. There is no requirement for officials to check that costumes are on the approved FINA list. Bylaws BL 8.2 and BL 8.3 cover our requirement for design and material. A suit check will only be made if a World or European record is being claimed.

Training Camp

Essex Swimming and the County Coaches have put a training programme together for the top 8 swimmers in the 14, 15, 16 and 17+ age groups. This is an ideal opportunity for the 14 year olds and Youth swimmers to train together, motivate and develop their skills. Selection will be based on the results of the 2013 County Age Group Competition. Essex has booked Basildon pool in 50m mode for one Sunday every month. It is a great opportunity for all swimmers to build a more competitive team, remain motivated and train with different coaches and swimmers.

Swimmers will receive an invitation via their home coach and you must reply asap.

ESSA Inter-Divisional Champsionships

The ESSA Inter-Divisional Champs are being held later this year on the 29^th & 30^th June at the Liverpool Aquatics Centre, its secretary has kindly produced a form for swimmers to submit times if they want to be considered for selection.

Please note that pupils from schools in the division are automatically affiliated to ESSA.
