Safeguarding & Time to Listen Courses Coming Up
The Region is currently booking further Safeguarding courses for 2018. See course details HERE.Please note that candidates between the ages of 16 and 18 can attend these courses but will need a chaperone who is not doing the course to accompany them. The Region’s criteria for support for these courses has also changed. See details HERE
Places on these courses are limited so please book early to avoid disappointment.

Regional Conferences / Coach Development Days – 23rd of June 2018 The Regional Conference will take place on the 23rd of June 2018 at The Lodge Crystal Palace National Sports Centre. There will also be a Safeguarding Course & Team Manager Module 2 Course taking place. See HERE for further details.

Club Officer Review
Please ensure that if there are any changes to Club Officers that these changes are made on the OMS system and where necessary Swim England Membership Department are updated via renewals@swimming.org

Parents Talks at the Regional Championships
On Saturday 19th May there will be a talk for parents of 12 year olds and parents of 13year olds and 14 year olds competing at the regionals for the 1st time. See HERE for further details.

Water Polo Junior Competitions Consultation
The Water Polo Management Group have just launched a 7-day consultation on junior water polo competitions to help inform the future structure of competitions in England.
The surveys are live now (due to close at 5pm on Friday 20th April) and we want to hear from junior water polo clubs, junior water polo coaches, junior water polo players and parents/guardians of junior water polo players!

Briefing note on the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) – Why is GDPR important?
It will be the new law for data protection, bringing in new requirements on data controllers and data processors.  Although most of the principles and terminology have not dramatically changed the GDPR enhances rights for individuals and introduces a number of additional obligations on organisations, in particular, greater transparency and accountability. Swimming Talent Camps 2018 Save the dates
London Region are excited to announce the dates of their 2018 Regional Swimming Talent Development Camps taking place at Trinity School Croydon. These Camps form stage two in the overall Swim England swimming development programme, following on from the County Development Camps.
The Regional camps are targeted at those swimmers aged 12 in the year of competition; so for 2018 this will be those swimmers born in 2006. For our region of London, 36 swimmers will be selected – with an even split across the genders. These swimmers will be selected post the Regional Age Group Championships 2018, based on long course rankings.
Swimmers who hope to be selected should keep the following dates free so that they are able to attend all three dates. 8th July 2018, 2nd September 2018 and 2nd December 2018.

Funding – London Sport’s funding search tool can help sports organisations and individuals living and operating in the capital to access what funding grants and bursaries there are available – if your club is looking for funding then it is definitely worth a look HERE

COACHES FORUM – WHO ARE WE AND WHAT DO WE DO?London Swimming has a Coaches Forum, this forum is Coach led allowing coaches from London clubs to work together to help improve swimming within the London region.
