Essex Swimmers Excel at British Champs 2017

Swimmers from Essex ASA competed for their home clubs at this year’s British Championships held in Sheffield.  All swum well

Samuel Pease (Basildon) competed in the 50m Backstroke and finished in a time of 27.85 – just outside of his lifetime best.  IN the 200 back, Samuel finished in a time of 2.10.83.  IN the 100 back, Samuel finished in a best time of 59.31.

Meghan Maybanks (Dunmow) achieved a PB in the heats and then bettered her time to finish 5th in the junior final in a time of 26.60.  IN the 50 back, Meghan swam a best time 30.01 to qualify for the final.  Meghan bettered her time to finish 5th in a time of PBs 29.85.

Martha Duley (Colchester) competed in the 50 back & 100 back.  Martha achieved a PB in the 50 back, and qualified for the final 29.97.  In the final, Martha finished 7th in a time of 29.82.  In the 100 back she equalled her PB and finished in 1.03.82. 

Elinor Duley (Colchester) achieved best times in the 50 fly 28.81 and also in the 50m free 29.93.

Georgia Milton (Romford) competed in the 800free. After a tough race, she finished in a time of 9.32.43.

Ellie Wheeler (Basildon) swam a PB in the 400 IM finishing in a time of 5.03.23.  In the 200IM, Ellie equalled her  PB finishing in 2.26.45.

Macy Lawrence swam a best time in the heats to qualify for the junior final with a time of 26.84.  In the final, Macy finished 7th in a time of 26.87.

Georgina Pryor (Harlow) competed in the 50 fly and finished in 28.26.
