Open Water Official’s Training
An Open Water Judge Level 1 course will be running during the East Region Open Water Talent Development Camp on 4th March 2017 in Basildon.

New Synchro Grades
New figure and routine grades have been announced for synchronised swimming, details can be found HERE.

This is part of a wider review of the sport which also involves updates to the judges pathway and competition framework.

Diving Coaching Conference

 The region welcomed Team GB and Leeds DC coach Ady Hinchcliffe to Southend on 21st and 22nd January for a regional diving coaching conference.

Swimmers Selected for International Meet
Congratulation to four of the region’s swimmers who have been selected as part of the ASA England Programmes squad attending the 6th FFN Golden Tour Camille Muffat.

Open Water Coach Observation Opportunity
Coaches are invited to attend to observe at both days of the Regional Open Water Talent Camp 2017.

Day 1 – 4th March, Basildon – short course, long course, land and theory sessions.

Day 2 – 11th June, Stanborough Lakes, Welwyn Garden City – theory and lake sessions,

Region to Host National Water Polo Event
Over the weekend of 11th/12th February at Woodside Leisure Centre, Watford, the region will be hosting the U18 Boys Inter Regional Championships.

Spectators are welcome, entry £2 per person.

Masters Communications
The Masters Swimming committee are trying to improve communications with masters swimmers around the region.

The committee will use a mailing list to send a quarterly newsletter and advise of upcoming deadlines for championships entries and development day bookings.

County Coach/ Team Manager Conference
The ASA England Programmes Team is delivering a conference aimed at both Team Managers and Coaches from the East Region.

This is an excellent opportunity for coaches and team managers to access technical and non- technical information specifically relating to age – group swimming. Attendance at the conference will allow coaches and team managers to develop a greater awareness of the critical role that they need to play in the development of our aspiring young swimmers. Delegates will be have the opportunity to check and challenge their understanding with key speakers and their peers throughout the day.

The conference will be held on the 18th March at Chippenham Village Hall, CB7 5PR.

County Development Days
Herts ASA Development Weekend – 18th- 19th February at Hertfordshire Sports Village, Hatfield. There will be a wide range of workshops over the weekend which will be free to attend. For more information on the available workshops, click HERE.
