Ensure your club has followed guidance on Safeguarding and Welfare

Safeguarding all our members – particularly the young and the vulnerable – is a vital part of all our work in the sport.  Club, county and regional welfare officers play an important role in safeguarding but it isn’t solely for them; it is for everyone.  The ASA has published guidance for members, clubs, counties and regions in Wavepower http://www.swimming.org/asa/clubs-and-members/safeguarding-children/ on their role in this area.

The Region’s Welfare Officer is Maria Abrams, whose contact details, along with other key people and resouces in this area, can be found here on the website.

Please make sure that your members and employees are aware of their responsibilities under this guidance and the ASA Code of Ethics http://www.swimming.org/asa/clubs-and-members/code-of-ethics/
