Congratulations to the Essex team who triumphed at the East Junior Championships last Sunday. They beat Suffolk, Beds and Herts B, before beating Herts A 2-1 in a tense final, which also saw Herts miss a penalty. Basildon’s Josh Inwood and Rob Humphries scored the goals for Essex, with Inwood, who is also in the England squad, scoring a vital goal from the halfway to equalise just before half-time. Essex goalkeeper David Williams, played brilliantly to keep out Herts , who have won the tournament for the last few years.
